In 1958, soon after the inception of the U.S. space program, an art program was created dedicated to the accomplishments, setbacks and excitement of space exploration. More than 200 NASA-commissioned artists experienced a behind-the-scenes look at the agency - the scientists, astronauts, and other personnel who shaped the missions and programs. This fascinating look at our nation's space program will appeal to all ages. The collection includes drawings, paintings, photographs, sculpture and other media. Well-known artists such as Norman Rockwell, Nam June Paik, Andy Warhol, William Wegman, Robert Rauschenberg, Annie Leibowitz and Jamie Wyeth are represented in the collection. Annual Members Exhibition ● February 6 thru 19, 2009 ● Opening Reception: February 6, 6pm-8pm ● Eligibility: All media / Art League of Bonita Springs members only. ● This show opens in conjunction with a Campus Wide Open House. Art Focus ● April 17 thru 30, 2009 ● Opening Reception: April 17, 6pm-8pm ● Eligibility: All media / All Southwest FL artists. ● This show opens in conjunction with a Campus Wide Open House. Student Showcase 2009 ● May 8 thru 14, 2009 ● Opening Reception: May 8, 6pm-8pm ● Eligibility: All media / Area high school students only.	Each year the Art League of Bonita Springs Center for the Arts presents a dynamic and wide-ranging selection of exhibitions which both appeal to and enlighten our membership and visitors. While some exhibitions feature member, faculty or student artists from our own community, other shows feature traveling exhibitions from national institutions in the U.S. or artworks from around the world. Our schedule provides events that focus on a particular theme, medium or concept. Our Fall schedule features a special exhibition from NASA and the Smithsonian. February showcases artworks from our members, while March and April feature regional artists.
