Driven to Abstraction – Zorn (ZOR040823)

Study and discuss works by Modernist and Contemporary artists to inform your own painting practice. The first half an hour of each class reviews works of two or three abstract artists and examines how these artists/masterpieces employ line, shape, form, color and composition. Learn why certain pieces are successful. Techniques are discussed and demonstrated by instructor Jackie Zorn which the students then experiment with. Students complete 1-2 works each class followed by a group critique (art school style). Discussion of artists’ practices will inform in order to incorporate joy into our own practice. Above all, we’ll have FUN!
