Florals are one of the most sought after painting styles for many designers. Mary Parkman starts this workshop with a variety of drawing exercises, stressing the simplification of shape, understanding of value, and the incorporation of structure in our compositions. Next, we delve into painting and how to create a sense of place. Our painting is not just about the flowers. It’s about creating a mood and atmosphere that engages us and the viewer. Then we loosen it all up as we explore various tricks to keep our paintings fresh and alive. Each workshop day includes warm up exercises, short lectures and demonstrations.
