Workshop: How to Make a Successful 10-Minute Play
Saturday, January 14, 2023; 10am – 6pm
Instructor: Frank Blocker, Film & Theatre Director, member of Dramatists’ Guild, SAG-AFTRA, and Actors’ Equity.

The goal is that each student leaves the class with a first draft (at least) of a work created during the workshop. Learn the key elements in making a strong and effective short play, learn “rules” of the genre (and how to break them!), and get help with your play’s next steps—when you are ready to send it out into the world. Writers will also get tips and tricks to find their way around writer’s block. Beginners to advanced are welcome. The Stage It! 10-Minute Play Festival deadline is January 19. Students of this workshop get one free entry into the Festival.

REQUIRED ITEMS:  Bring something to write with such as laptop, smart pad, or pen & paper. If you are working on a short play, bring that with you!
